Let It Bloom: A Song for the Days You Feel Empty

Published on June 1, 2025 in Pop Culture & Recovery

There’s a part of recovery no one prepares you for: the stillness.
You’ve stopped using. You’re making better choices. But inside?
It feels like dry ground. You’re not alone.

We want you to pause and listen to this:

Let Let It Bloom speak to the spaces in you that feel barren.
The places you’ve hidden. The parts still waiting to heal.

“Here I am / With broken branches…”

This is where many of us start.
We come into recovery not blooming—but feeling broken.
Damaged by storms. Snapped by our choices.
Still standing, but barely.

“The roots I planted / Wither in the soil…”

Sometimes even the good things we tried to grow…
didn’t make it.
We planted hope—but it didn’t take.
We tried again—but it dried up.
That doesn’t mean something’s wrong with you. It means you’re human.

“I try to stand / And wait for rainfall…”

Maybe you’re there now—holding on, waiting for something to change.
Rain is a symbol of grace in the recovery journey.
You can’t force it. But you can stay open.

“A rushing flood of / Water to my soul…”

When it comes, it might not be gentle.
Sometimes healing comes like a flood—
messy, overwhelming, and exactly what we need.

“Though it seems / Nothing grows here anymore…”

This is the lie addiction tells: that nothing good can come from your life again.
But it’s not true.

“Where You walk, the flowers bloom…”

Whether you believe in God or a Higher Power—this line is your reminder.
Recovery is holy ground. Healing steps leave beauty in their wake.

“You turn deserts into gardens when You move…”

Deserts don’t stay dry forever.
Your story isn’t over.
Where pain lived… joy can grow.
Where addiction ruled… freedom can rise.

“You’re the God of transformation…”

Even if you don’t use the word “God,” Step 3 invites you to believe in something greater than yourself, a God of your own understanding.
Something that restores.
Something that helps you change.

“A new beginning waiting to unfold…”

That new beginning?
It doesn’t have to wait for next week, or next month.
It can start right now.
One decision. One day. One song.
